THUNDERBIRD, SHIRASAGI

The THUNDERBIRD and SHIRASAGI are limited express services linking Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya with Tsuruga, where they provide smooth connections to the Hokuriku Shinkansen TSURUGI bound for Fukui, Kanazawa, and Toyama. The THUNDERBIRD operates between Osaka/Kyoto and Tsuruga, while the SHIRASAGI runs from Nagoya to Tsuruga via Maibara. Operated with modern limited express trains, both services offer comfortable seating and convenient access from western and central Japan to the Hokuriku region.

Executive class (Gran class)

Car 12 is Executive class, called ”Gran class.” All seats are reserved. They feature a 1+2 seating layout with a seat pitch of 1,300 mm, offering comfort even on long journeys. In the Gran Class on the "KAGAYAKI", complimentary light meals and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) are provided.
